Ho’okipa is the perfect spot in Maui Hawaii for watching surfers and windsurfing competitions, where you can find the most impressive surf in Hawaii, can reach heights of 30 feet in winter time. From the Ho’okipa lookout parking lot, take a look down to the bay for a breath-taking view, where the giant turtles rest on the golden sand beach on the left side, and local surfers trying to catch their big wave at the ocean side. 

The beach is special with the Hawaiian Green sea turtles, known as Honu, they can be found sunbathing and swimming everyday here. Many turtles come to the shore in the evening, before the sun set. Please remember that they are protected by the state law so respect and keep your distance.
